Description

Pair of lions carved in solid walnut, from an antique 19th-century piece of furniture, now reinterpreted as decorative sculptures or sturdy bookends.

The warm, compact wood enhances the strength of the carving: flowing manes, half-open jaws, and proud gazes give them surprising realism.

Each piece weighs about 4 kg, ensuring stability and a striking presence. Perfect as ornaments, bookends, or decorative elements on either side of an entryway or a bookshelf, they add a touch of classic grandeur.

Note the original attachment point still visible on the head, evidence of their original function, and old, now extinct, woodworm holes that do not compromise their solidity.
